Aathaven Tharmarajah (he/him) is a New York-based actor working across TV, film, and theatre. As a first-generation Tamil-American actor, he is passionate about embracing work that challenges audiences, promotes inclusivity, and reflects the full range and layers of the human experience. Aathaven is drawn to stories with earnestness, humor, and heart at the center of them and is excited by storytelling that involves bold yet joyful collaboration.
Most recently, Aathaven played Shaikh in the world premiere of The Lunchbox at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, directed by Tony Award winner Rachel Chavkin. He also starred as Emmett Forrest and Theodore “Laurie” Laurence in the national tours of Legally Blonde and Little Women, respectively, and appeared in productions at acclaimed regional theaters across the country, including St. Ann’s Warehouse, The REV Theatre Company, and McCarter Theatre. He has also appeared in television series on Netflix and Disney+.
